Spring Break & Easter!!

Less than a week until Easter Sunday!!  Six days, to be exact.  April Fools Day is also on Easter, but you probably know that by now.  At least for me and my family, since I’m a Christian, it’s kind of like God is doing an April Fools joke to Satan.

“Ha, you thought Jesus was dead?!  Well, He rose from the dead and opened the gates of Heaven!  APRIL FOOOOOOOOOLS!”

But before Easter is GOOD Friday, which confuses me.  I go to church on “Good” Friday and we’re all mourning Jesus like His mother Mary did.  But you know, (SPOILER ALERT) He’s going to rise from the dead on Easter, and not be a zombie or anything.  Still His same self.  Yet, we’re still doing kind of a memorial mass for Him, which makes sense.

What DOESN’T make sense is calling it Good Friday while Easter Sunday is just Easter Sunday.  Good Friday should be Not So Good Friday, and Easter Sunday should be Good & Grand Easter Sunday.  Good Friday will forever confuse me.

But besides my religion, I do the fun candy happy crazy bunny egg hullabaloo Easter celebrations too.  It’s always a very noice day.

Throughout the whole Spring Break, me, my brother Eamonn and my parents all work on eating the candy and eggs we got from Easter.  We never finish it all in the Spring Break time, and we usually never finish it all, at all.  Not because we have an insane amount of food, but because, well, I don’t know why.

Actually, we do finish the eggs, we just don’t finish the candy.  There’s still some sitting around from last Easter in our fridge.  I don’t know what we’re going to do with it.  It’s the same thing with Halloween candy.

We have at least three movies with Easter aspects to them, I can’t remember their names though.  One live action and two animated.  We usually watch one of them.

During Spring Break some plants in our yard start blooming and blossoming more, and when we go outside we like to look at them.  We also notice the plants blooming in other people’s yards or just on their own.

I mentioned how I go to the Good Friday mass, so I do go to mass on Holy Saturday OR Easter Sunday.  I don’t know which day I’m going to yet.  Someone who was going to read the readings and stuff at one of the masses can’t make it and my dad is doing it instead.  I might’ve heard which day that was, but I don’t remember.  Me and Eamonn are going to whichever mass my dad is reading at.  My mom believes in Jesus and all, but she doesn’t go to mass.

That’s everything I can think of saying about something my Spring Break will be like, I hope you liked my post!

Free Post: Immediately Coming Up With A Weird Poem As I Make This Post

Once There Was
By: Clementine Odum

Once there was
A person who
Spent there whole life
In a shoe!
She didn’t know
That it was,
Kind of weird,
Be-ecause
It looked exactly like a sneaker!
Yet again
She should’ve seen
The sneaker gets weaker
When Mr. Ben
Puts his foot EEN (in)

So that’s the strange poem I made up just now that doesn’t make much sense.  Hope you liked it!

A Favorite Quote

I don’t have one favorite quote, but here’s a quote I like from the RPG (Role-Playing Game) Undertale.

“That’s the trash can, feel free to visit it any time!”

     -Papyrus

I really like that quote.  It’s very funny and kind of Papyrus the skeleton.  It will always sound a little strange, but, well, that’s what makes it funny!  I don’t know what else to say.  I guess I might as well advertise the game.

Even though I don’t have the amazing video game Undertale, I hope to get it one day.  You can play it on the Playstation 4, which I also don’t have, and it only costs $10!  Like most RPGs, there are many endings to the game Undertale, but only one true good ending.

In Undertale, the player doesn’t have to kill or defeat the enemies.  They can befriend them!  If the player doesn’t kill any of the enemies and characters at all, they get the good ending called True Pacifist.  If the player defeats some of them and befriends others, they get an okay ending.  If they defeat all or most of them, they get an evil and bad ending.  That ending is called GENOCIDE.

Undertale is very special like that, you have the opportunity to change the way all the enemies and characters think of you.  It’s a great game, and like I said, I don’t have it.  I did watch the YouTuber Dan TDM play the whole game in True Pacifist, though.  There were different videos, but all together it was HOURS AND HOURS long.  It was worth it.  Even though I know how everything goes, one day I want to play Undertale for myself in True Pacifist, because I like all the characters.

Sea Slugs/Slice Of Life #9/March 8

My friend Sarah is REALLY into sea slugs.  I think I have a little obsession for them too.  She’s been working on this Google Doc called Community Sea Slug Collection and sent it to me, my brother, and our friends.  Whenever someone sends her something she likes on Google Drive, she draws a picture of a sea slug.  Also when someone puts a funny, useful or nice comment.  It doesn’t HAVE to be sea slug related comment, though.

Today, I’m making a list of probably around FIFTY kinds of sea slugs and I’m going to make a Doc dedicated to each one.  No one knows except me, of course, and anyone who’s reading this post. Currently I have 32 kinds of sea slugs on my list, and it keeps creeping up!

I don’t want to send an explosion of sea slug Docs that she'll/shell have to put a whole a bunch of sea slug drawings on her waiting list for.  So there’s definitely going to be some time separating sending each one.  But I’m still making the list right now!

Oh, people know when your Doc or comment is worthy of a sea slug drawing in Community Sea Slug collection when they get a Seel of Slug.  If she can edit the Doc that was sent, she’ll put a picture of the seel.  If she can comment she says “-seel of slug-“.

I can’t wait to make all these Sea Slug Docs, but like I said, my list needs to keep going a little longer!  If you don’t know what a sea slug is, just search it on Google.  They’re really pretty, colorful, exotic, cute, they’re so great!

Incoming! Wings of Fire!/Slice Of Life #8/March 6

Yesssssss!  I finished reading my book, Jacky Ha Ha!  It was good, but I’m actually glad it’s finally over!  I did like it, but now I’m going to read something I think I’ll like even MORE.  Wings of Fire!

My brother Eamonn, my friends Sarah, Sophie and I’m pretty sure Sam have all read at least some of it.  Now it’s my turn!  The first book is called The Dragonet Prophecy, oh, also, WOF is a series of fantasy stories about dragons.

I’m pretty excited about reading it, but my brother got a big head start on WOF and doesn’t want to wait for me to catch up.  I said maybe he could read a book series I really liked about cats called Warriors while he’s waiting for me, but he doesn’t want to do that either.  The first Warriors book is being made into a movie probably later this year, my parents have read the first book, Into the Wild and enjoyed it.  I REALLY REALLY want Eamonn to too.

WOF is pretty well known, there are lots of videos about it on YouTube.  There are some funny ones, so once I’ve read enough of it I’ll be able to understand and watch them.  Hm, there are lots of good Warriors videos too.  I want Eamonn to at least read the first book!

I feel like I don’t bug him about much, but when I actually do do it, he says I do it all the time and that makes him want to read it less.  My mom likes to joke about this one part of the book, and Eamonn sometimes brings that up too.

Anyway, I guess all there is to this blog post is I really want to read WOF and J really want Eamonn to read some Warriors.  You should read it too!  The movie’s coming out most likely later this year!

Thing On My Coat/Slice Of Life #7/March 1

Yesterday, February 27th, (also my mom’s birthday 🍰) I went to the The Sound of Music workshop so I could audition.  Before the workshop got going, I was sitting on one of the bench-y things that were moved by the walls of the MPR, AKA HMS Lunchroom.  I had placed my backpack, messenger bag, binder and coat on the table.

My eyes were wandering around the room, Mrs. Chlumsky (one of the directors) organizing some papers, kids talking, other kids looking around the room.  Then I looked back at my little area.  I looked at my nice li’l belongings, backpack, messenger bag, binder and coat.  I stared straight at my coat, the Velcro.  There was something on the Velcro of my coat.

I looked a little closer.  What was that thing?  I looked even closer.  “Ee, what is that?” I quietly wondered.  It was some sort of hair, but not long enough to be mine and not short enough to be my dog’s.  Not dark enough enough to be mine OR my dog’s.  It was pretty light, it had some white and some barely blonde mixed up.  What exactly was it?  Where did it come from?

I quickly thrusted my hand forward, plucked the thing off and got it off of my hand.  “Eh!  Hm, maybe I could do a blog post about this.”  I mumbled to myself.

     So I did.
